Get your website indexed by Google

Hello guys! Today, I am going to tell you how to make Google and other search engines find your website as quickly as possible and how to make your website popular among visitors.
So, imagine you’ve just created a website with GazZup. And now you’re anxious to show it to the world. However, when you try to google your website, it’s like it’s gone invisible! Neither Google nor other search engines can see it, which means that visitors can’t find it either! It leaves you angry, frustrated and makes you think that all the time you spent on building your website was wasted and flushed down the toilet.

Fortunately, that’s not the case!
You just may have forgotten to index your website.
The search engines (like Google, Bing, etc.) know many things, but they’re not omnipotent. They do a great job finding stuff that has been on the internet for ages, but they are sometimes slow to find and add new content that has just been created. So, to make sure they don’t forget or delay adding your website, you have to submit your website to their search console. This is called “indexing”.

How do you do that? Oh, it’s very easy. We’ll show you how to let Google know about you.
Before we start working with Google, please be aware that you’ll need a Gmail account to do any of the following. If you have one, please, log in before you start. If you don't, go to, get one and log in.

And now, let’s get going!
- Go to
- Type the words “Submit URL to Google” and hit “Enter”
- Click on the link saying “Submit URL – Google”

Here’s what you’ll see:

Just copy and paste the link to your website, tick “I’m not a robot” and click “Submit Request”.

A sign will pop up saying that your request has just been submitted.

Et voila! Congratulations! You’ve just told Google you exist!
Is that it? Well, yes and no. That was good, but it’s better to do more.
What we just did was saying: “Hello Google, here’s my website, I’d like it to be visible to others.” However, to see whether your website really becomes visible and popular, we strongly recommend you to sign up at Google Analytics.
You need to go to and click on the “Sign up” link on the right. Then, you fill in the empty fields – that is, you write the name of your account, the name of your website, and you submit the link to it once again.

Once you’re finished, you scroll down the page and click on “Get tracking id”: Google then gives you a code for your website. What you do next is copy this code, go to and click on the NAME of your website (under “MY SITES” on the right).

Go to “Statistics” and click on “Google analytics”.

Here you have to paste the code you copied and click the “Save” button below. After that, you will be able to see the information about your website (how many times it was visited by other users, etc.) by going to the Google analytics website.
So, now you can see how many times your website has been visited. But what if weeks go by and you still have only 1-2 visitors and the search engines show your website on the 20th or 30th page? How do you boost the popularity of your website? And how do you get into the Top 10 of Google?

In short, there are 3 ways:
- By posting more ORIGINAL content;
- By optimizing the use of KEYWORDS;
- By making other websites POINT to your website.
Now, let’s explain how you do each of these things.

Posting Original Content

First, Google and other online search engines LOVE original content. That is, photos taken by YOU, blog posts and comments YOU wrote, etc., anything created by you and not taken from other places. The more original content you post, the more interesting you become for search engines.

Using Keywords Effectively

A keyword is basically what you write about. If you want to write about winter tires, your keywords are …well, “winter tires”. If you write about car insurance, your keywords are “insurance” and “car insurance”. When search engines analyze websites, they rely on keywords to find out what the content is about.
Let’s put it this way: if you write a 2-page article about alloy wheels, and you use the keywords “alloy wheels” only once, the search engines will not be sure what your text is about. However, if you use “alloy wheels” 3-4 times plus mention them in the title, it will be clear that they’re the topic of your blog post.
On the other hand, if you use the keywords too many times (like 5-10 times on one page), the search engines will most likely label your text as spam.

To count how many times keywords are mentioned in a text, you can use free online tools like or (by the way, the latter will help you to analyze keyword density on the whole website).

Making Other Websites Point to Yours

This one is the easiest one: just tell people about your website! You may ask your friends to visit your website and, if they like what you created, to share a link on their social media accounts. The more people POINT to your website and talk about it online, the more chances you have to get into the top search results. Of course, the best option is if people talk about your website on websites related to the subject you describe. That is, if your website is about cars, it’d be great if people mentioned it on some car-related pages. However, make sure you’re honest! Don’t try to copy-paste the links everywhere you can. Instead, use every chance to say: “Hey people, this is my website, please visit it and tell me what you think”. And who knows – your popularity might grow in a couple of days, provided you really have some interesting stuff there.

So, let’s sum it up a little bit:
1. If you think that no one is seeing your website, make sure you index it in search engines.
2. If you want to see how many users visit your website every day, you can sign up at Google analytics and post their code in the Statistics field of your web builder on
3. To make your website not only visible for search engines but popular among users, post more original content, control the use of keywords throughout and use every opportunity to tell the world about your website.

Good luck and happy building!
